HKCC Health Equity Summit (SOLD OUT)

  • Brockey Center, South Seattle College (map)

SOLD OUT. Due to high demand we have moved this event to a larger venue - Brockey Center, South Seattle College

One of our efforts in working towards our newly defined Vision of eliminating health disparities that cause inequity is to hold our annual Summit to host our Coalition members, friends, and special guests to highlight work over the previous year and reset our gauge toward the next – especially in light of our also newly defined Mission of honoring the wisdom and power of those who have been subject to discrimination due to their race, class, or sexual orientation, Healthy King County Coalition develops leaders and provides expertise and resources that build capacity for achieving health equity.

Our 2018 Health Equity Summit will be held on Thursday, September 27th in South King County at the Brockey Center at South Seattle College. Dr. Ben Danielson of Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic is set to join us as our keynote speaker. Work Groups (Healthy Eating; Built Environment; Tobacco, Marijuana, and Other Drugs; and the Equity Committee) will report-out on their work for the past year. An afternoon panel will highlight local and national leaders (including Devita Davison of FoodLab Detroit and Nikkita Oliver) that will speak on systems that perpetuate health inequities including food insecurity and climate justice.

Registration is required and tickets are available on a sliding scale - no one will be turned away for inability to pay. Please choose the level that works for your situation.
